The young kart racer secured several race wins across the weekend

11-year-old Max Wheatley competed in the Rotax Mini (Inter) class across the UK in 2023 at various events, achieving impressive results throughout.

For 2024, the class has evolved to the Euro-Spec class, where Max continues to use EBC Brakes’ brake pads in his 125cc Rotax kart.

The latest race saw him head to Hertfordshire’s Rye House Kart Raceway, where he showed more promise by winning multiple podiums, as you can read below in his own words.

“An amazing weekend back at Rye House!”

Qualifying – 1st

“A rainy qualifying, setting a time 0.6 seconds faster than 2nd place.”

Heat 1 – 1st – 1st 

“Fastest lap – 0.6 seconds fastest. Finishing with a six-second lead in rainy conditions.”

Heat 2 – 1st – 3rd 

“Struggling to keep the kart on track, due to a gamble on setup with a dry line appearing, but still managed to finished 3rd.”

Final – 1st – 1st

“Finishing with a seven-second lead and 0.5 second fastest in dry conditions back on slicks.

“I also received Driver of the Day.”
